A health coach is your personal cheerleader, guide and parner in regards to wellness and lifestyle changes to improve your physical health, from the core.

The time commitment and cost of coaching are highly variable.
Some people do very brief coaching — even one session, (perhaps for a professional athlete who is looking for feedback on their daily habits and how they could be affecting their sleep.)
In other cases, like weight loss, a client may work with a health coach for months to years.
This is why most health coaches offer free, brief consultations. Since everyone is different and have different habits and goals, they will need different programs and support.

Coaches enter the field from a wide variety of different backgrounds, and it might be an advantage to pick a coach who has a background in a health or wellness-related field, though many extremely talented coaches come from careers in different realms.
Word of mouth is always an excellent way to find a coach.

Having worked in the healthcare field since 2009, in and out of the hospital and care home, I had this desire to help more people in a holistic, exciting way.

Everyone is different, and change will vary for each person.
A motivated individual can notice minor changes within the first two to three weeks, when working with a Health Coach.
More substantial changes can take anywhere from three to six months.”

Coaching sessions differ greatly, depending on the coaches’ and clients’ schedules, what the clients’ goals are, and a number of other factors.

Communication is key when it comes to the coach-client relationship; and just like in every relationship, communication will look different.
Coaches may check in several times in between sessions to gauge the progress you’re making toward your goals and help you tackle any challenges you may be experiencing.
It’s important to be honest about your experience, so your coach can adjust your program accordingly and get you on the right path.
